Exploring determinism:
An Interactive Journey
This interactive project delves into the philosophical concepts of determinism and fate, exploring the tension between control and inevitability. Using advanced tools like TouchDesigner and Mediapipe, users interact with four symbolic 3D models—a Möbius strip, hourglass, spinning top, and meteorite—each representing different beginnings tied to time and space.
Through gestures, users can manipulate these shapes, switching models, creating waves, or breaking them apart. However, despite their actions, all paths ultimately converge into a single, chaotic form, symbolizing the inevitability of fate. This project invites reflection on whether outcomes are truly influenced by our choices or are simply preordained by larger systems.
Combining visual storytelling, immersive interaction, and symbolic design, the experience challenges users to rethink the meaning of choice and control in a deterministic world. Join the journey and explore how the illusion of free will contrasts with the reality of predetermined outcomes.
